the topiary is supposed to represent all of the royal beasts, though it's hard to tell dragons from unicorns. still, good fun. the stair turret and solar bay are reconstructed on the lines of the mid c16 originals.

george III monument, actually saying "erected to almighty jupiter, lord of the sea, on behalf of citizen subjects of william III saved by his protection on $th november, 1688" and then "after the passing of a century, this was erected on 5th november 1788 to commemorate the restoration to health of george III" . on of the oddments collected by a.e.bowles for his garden.
