This was taken one year ago today. (The temp here, today, is 17 degrees. A processing day!) I also posted a pano today of The Historic Castaneda.

I instantly liked this image and it took me a while to unlock why I did have this reaction. I suppose the blue tint adds impact and, for me, appeal. The it goes to the composition and the line play on offer. It is almost a photo of two halves. The door, steps and arch on the left and then the wooden balcony and repeating arch on the right. I like the cross shape on the top left of the image - for me it adds a great deal to the shot. Overall, I really like it and now, I understand why! Thank you for support our group, In My Opinion.

Interesting architectural shot with much to look at. I really like the shapes with the arched doorway and window and the textures of the worn bricks and wood. The angle that you've shot this at enhances the depth by giving the balcony and supporting posts on the right a three-dimensional look. With the doorway being the obvious focal point that my eye is drawn to, I am tempted to suggest a bit of a different angle so that the diagonal of the left most beam of wood doesn't cut across it at the top. But then you may lose the reflection in the window, which is a nice element. I do like this shot, very nicely done In My Opinion.

Vicky: I try not to be reflected in glass, it is true, but this angle...I'm not sure why I chose this angle. When it feels right I snap it. Good comments! The scaffolding to the right becomes stairs. You can see them in the next picture from yesterdays posting.
