Kathy's Window

Kathy's Window
I met a woman whose grandparents lived in this adobe. It is in Cimarron, not far from our studio. There has been more deterioration since this photo was taken.

It's a nice composition, suggesting what her grandparents may have seen out the window. It also suggest a feeling of home and of grounding which is of course juxtaposed to the decay all around which is the structure as it's deteriorating. Depressing in a way, reminding us that nothing stays the same and is fleeting but even that is juxtaposed by the hopefulness that is the tree in the distance awaiting spring to bloom again. Nicely done in my opinion.

Michael, that is the story this composition conveys for me as well. Also that winter's beauty cannot be fully appreciated through glass and under a roof. Please look at the shot I just posted, taken about the same time.

IMO..
A remarkable photo, with a stunning effect in black and white, which puts more value capture.Le contrast is obvious and tones gray gradients up to darker, seems to give more nostalgia about it .. A photo that looks like a painting of still life, and keeps within it many memories of an abandoned almost total disrepair Beautiful place .. Steve, I like a lot ..!.

Raoul, I see winter as a season of B&W. Especially when there are drifts of snow. At that time the 'bones' of nature, man's creations included, are sticking out everywhere. There is another shot from that same day just posted. Thanks for your comment. Is there snow where you are?

Thank you Steve ...
Not much here, we rarely see snow,
but I see elsewhere because I travel a lot in Europe.
Pleasant weekend.
