Though I had been here before, it had never been with a wide-angle lens, or with clouds like these! Quite a bit of work went into creating this image from one RAW file. The DR was extreme. I exposed for the sky and tickled out the building's detail. Love drama!

Chris Drinkwater, Dave Linscheid, AlicePopkorn, Keith Millard Photography and 5 other people have particularly liked this photo

Yes, interesting image Steve! I like the portrait format on this one, as it gives it height showing more of the dramatic sky! The cabin is very well treated too, showing the age of it. This green light !is it flare?) gives it impact as well and fits in well with the rest of the colors. Would I have put the cabin slightly on the side? Maybe I would have, but that's a question of personal taste. A beautiful dramatic image.

I really like the colors in this capture.
Excellent work of the sky with the clouds in strong tones, increasing even more the idea of a ghostly and abandoned house.
Good texture in the surrounding green gardens.
An original composition.
Great light.
A fantastic shot.

IMO..!
Beautiful Steve, a catch that can not be ignored because it is so attractive .. It looks like the good old days or scenes from movies or cowboy adventure .. I love when you catch these kind of old, as during your last photo of the old window your friend .. the colors in the foreground lend themselves well, but I prefer this against-dark clouds and clouds, with the white opening to the sky ..!
I have nothing to say, except that it is taken as admirable .. Good evening Steve.

Love it but could you take the lens flare out?

Keith,
Just read your comment, which could prompt a discussion: "What are your feelings when you see that an artisan has allowed the marks of his tools to show in his work?" I haven't a preference as far as that goes...but if it detracts from the work perhaps it shouldn't be there.
