Chilehaus II 


Eines der bekanntesten Gebäude im Hamburger Kontorhausviertel ist das Chilehaus. Die Ostspitze (hier ein Ausschnitt) ähnelt einem steil aufragendem Schiffsbug. Das Bauwerk entstand in den Jahren 1922-1924 im Auftrage des Kaufmannes Henry B. Sloman nach einem Entwurf des Hamburger Architekten Fritz Höger. Am 27. September 1983 wurde das Chilehaus in die Liste der denkmalgeschützten Gebäude aufgenommen und mittlerweile für die Liste des Weltkulturerbes der UNESCO angemeldet.
