I saw her standing there
No disrespect intended by the title. I spotted this gentle, dignified portrait in a thrift store, and was moved to wonder about the artist and the subject of this 1959 oil painting.

I must admit it. I did. She was so singular, left there among all the cast-off walmart wall decor. I don't see many items like this.
