Seen from behind Tullintori buildings. Update: Testing IrfanView editor after very long time, and discovered the followings. IrfanView is easy to use for resizing the images and canvas size. There are also several nice effects under menu 'Image > Effects > Effects Browser...'. I updated the image with 'Stretch Histogram' and 'Rock'. That treatment gave better colors and an interesting intentionally "over sharped" look. Recommended work flow is to resize first down to 2000 something pixels, because number of effects are relatively minimum, and has very small effect on very large images. I also manage to solve the missing EXIF issue. Instead of using 'File > Save for Web...', it is better to use 'File > Save As...'. I could not made it to change the missing EXIF here, but it will keep EXIF when uploading as new.

My new 50 images project will be 50 different images of this building: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hotel_Torni_Tampere fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/H%C3%B4tel_Torni_de_Tampere My wife used to shoot this rather ugly tower seen from various sides of the town. I have also taken quite many shots of it already: www.ipernity.com/tag/serola/keyword/5190100 The personal challenge is to find 50 new ways to photograph and edit the images of this tower. Shooting part is easy because the tower is only two blocks away from my home, and I walk past of it almost every day. Therefore it should be rather easy to capture it in different times of day and year, and in different weather. But then I of course also try to implement everything I have learned about ways to compose and edit images.

Contribution for the Macro Dreams challenge : "family portrait" One trick I have started to put in use is to squeeze the image into square. The default aspect ratio on cameras is usually either 3:4 or 2:3. But square images often would look better. Instead of cropping and giving up on original composition, one can change the aspect ratio to square, and also make the "actors" look thinner (or fatter, if the original is a vertical image). An inspiration to do this was very practical. On Instagram portrait images where the aspect ratio is any "taller" than 4:5 would become cropped vertically. So, I came up with an idea to squeeze the images from 3:4 to 4:5, and then started to do the squeezing just for fun.

My first modest attempt to combine out of focus and in camera movement. Update: Texture added on PicMonkey, just for fun.
