da haben ja schon zwei an Schach gedacht und ganz verschieden umgesetzt. Sehr spannend. Ich mag hier die Perspektive total!

Yes, I noticed =) Chess has always been one of my favorite photography topics. I am not much keen to play the game, but I for example like to read about it.

Merci beaucoup, Ghislaine =)

Well the color of the pieces is authentic (carved out of some stone).

Je sais que la couleur est authentique , mais cette couleur me gêne pour ce type d'image IP : j' imaginerai une couleur moins sophistiquée …

Je ne sais pas maitriser les tailles , je me suis contentée du 16/9 pour mon image …

Then it is probably better not to submit this at Frontpage group. Thank you for the feedback =)

I can always make a retake with another set of chess pieces ;-)

Sami Serola (inactiv… club has replied to Xata club
I don't dare! =D I am pretty sure I would loose immediately =)

I have played chess only few times in 1990s. But in general the chess interests me visually and also historically.

I am not a pro for technical details.... but with my cams f/11 would not give such a DOF... I think.
You've put a white screen on the right side to reflect some additional light I guess...
I love the result, the colours of the stone pieces contrasting with the BW board, for me it would be perfect for IMA but I am no one to decide such thing. I would try to submit it to them...

Sami Serola (inactiv… club has replied to Xata club
On Canon G5X "one inch" sensor camera f/11 is the smallest aperture. It is pretty much the same as f/22 on larger format cameras. It is physically very small, and therefore gives very extensive depth of field. And yes, I used white screen on right. But I kept the main source of light on left to emphasize the idea that the "dark side" black chess pieces are somewhere on right.

P.S. I have now lightened the highlights, thanks to feedback that Ghislaine gave. On another computer I truly realized the image was too dark in general.

Xata club has replied to Sami Serola (inactiv… club
I don't remember it as being too dark and my screen is pro-calibrated, (I have a person re-checking it for me every two months)... I don't remember how it was exactly but now I see burnt white zones on the left side of your horse...

There was some blown out edge already. It didn't got much larger/wider after increasing the light on chess pieces =)

Sami Serola (inactiv… club has replied to Ruesterstaude club
Yes, the first error are the knights and bishops misplaced.

The second error is actually caused by the wrong start position. Knight can't get to that square. at least not with one move.

Then what could be the third error?
