Collision of elements

Collision of elements
This time of the year in Finland is just perfect to shoot monochromatic textures. Piles of dirty snow, mixtures of ice and gravel, and dust can be seen everywhere. Colours seem to be rare and pale.

Au Cœur... diagonalhorizon, Ulrich John, Annemarie, christel.k and 12 other people have particularly liked this photo

DAS könnte ich mir gut als Textur für eine Hintergrund-Ebene vorstellen.
Läßt sich gut mit unterschiedlichen Helligkeiten und Einfärbungen ausprobieren.

Heidi says you could use this as a background texture and try it in different degrees of light and colour.

Oh, thank you HC =) I indeed had that in mind when taking shot. I even considered posting a version with no frames, and offer it for free download to be used as a texture.

There is actually a quick test on this at Instagram:

Although, there I have actually combined it with another image suitable for texture =D

I used there Snapseed mobile app, which I rediscovered thanks to Johan:

I thought so! =D Here in Tampere it was even advised to use similar masks as used on construction sites, because there has been so much dust in the air.

Thank you Wertti =)

This makes a really great abstract. All our ice and snow is long gone and I've seen vans sweeping up the gravel and creating big dust clouds.

Great texture, Sami !! Reminds me the Alps when the snow is melting and tourists gone !!

Thank you Marie-claire =) Yes, one can see even Alps in small details ;-) What I forgot to tell as a story on caption is how as a kid I often used to watch the ground while walking home from school, and imagine I'm in the aeroplane and looking down to a ground far below. Then all the details on ground could just as well be deserts, fields, rivers and lakes.

You have been using a telescopic lens to take a photo of faraway galaxies, Sami. I just don't believe it's a pile of dirty snow and gravel. ;-)

OHH - Yey - I remember me I also so every time after the rain the desert, rivers and lakes, and with a small stick the rivers were then changed, sometimes resulting in small waterfalls :-)))

da könnte ich mir gut vorstellen, etwas darauf zu montieren, z.B. einen Käfer oder Gegenstand... ;-);
auch Klasse ist der Titel für Deine Textur, Sami!
