Wittgenstein has written some interesting "Remarks on Colour" (Bemerkungen über die Farben, ed. by G.E.M. Anscombe (1977)). Wittgenstein can be seen as an early researcher on cultural studies and semiotics. In works by John Fiske we can see a continuum for the ideaf of how "sign systems" work.

This picture is inverted. The monkey on top has white fur and dark face. In a way it can be seen as a representation of famous albino gorilla Snowflake (Floquet de Neu). But when inverted, it becomes just a gorilla like any other.

Here is also intentional reference to playing cards, in which the court cards are often displayed like here. They are vertically mirrored and can be turned 180 degrees.
