a day in air traffic life (2003) 

this movie came back to my mind today, while talking with friends.
it´s a visualization of the daily air traffic in the US - back in 2003 (!) by the NASA
it´s a day´s turn, with nighttime´s pretty obvious... :P

i found it on edward tufte´s site years ago, and yeah, it´s still amazing!

i´m not sure, but i think there´s been another visualization with less airplanes growing bigger while traffic increased. but the "swarming ants" are impressive as well!
