TH18 Old time timetable

TH18 Old time timetable
I visited the museum (that used to be a huge train station) to get this shot. I was hoping they would have something similar still in use for the few trains that still use the station, but no such luck. I asked in the safety office if they had any historic time schedules posted anywhere and they said there was one in a restricted area. I must have looked safe, because I was able to get an escort through several locked doors to get this shot!

The whole building is art deco and this piece of history is no exception. I'm not crazy about the angle, but I was limited in where I could stand to get the shot and I didn't want to take up a bunch of the guy's time.

Actually, he seemed uncertain and just a tiny bit uncomfortable and signaled another male employee to accompany us. Not sure if it was because of my service dog, accompanying a female alone to a private location, the pro-gun sweatshirt I was wearing and bag I was carrying, being doubtful of my photography reason or something completely different. I didn't care, I was just glad to be able to get the shot! And I tried my best to put him at ease and get him out of the situation as quickly as I could. I thanked them both profusely.

Ah .... my guess is the pro gun sweat top. If you need a guide dog do you have enough eye sight to be in charge of a fire arm ?

He's not a guide dog, he's a mobility assistance dog. I actually compete in shooting events (dog has to stay home to protect his ears and I take my husband to help me) :-) But my vision IS getting worse for reading/close-in tasks and I have to wear glasses to see my sights and my camera's screen now, but distance vision is fine.

That is quite a story to go with your capture of this old Timetable. Photography can be a real adventure sometimes! Well done.

I remember that postcard of the train station that you posted before. Love the art deco look of that old timetable. You not only got your shot, but you got an interesting story to go along with it!
