When there are high flows/floods at the water plant the excess goes into two overflow tanks. First is an 8 million gallon tank and then from that into a 22 million gallon tank if necessary. In the first tank is a trough that catches trash and assorted floating solids. One of the main elements of this are things like plastics -- bags, pens, utensils, etc -- and organics. Like seeds.

So Sunday we found a little garden of sorts in the trough that included tomato plants, cucumbers, sunflowers and pot.

Yep, pot plants. Four of 'em. Big ones, too.
