The end of my 3rd day since my dad's heart attack and I hit the wall. Been very tired all day; got to the hospital at 6:30 a.m. and had to come back to my aunt & uncle's about 10 to take a 2 hr nap. And I'll be asleep long before midnight.

My dad has been sitting up a lot today, eating solid food and basically beating all of the odds (again). But he still has a long way to go before he can think about leaving the hospital. The doc wants to move him off ICU to the cardiac unit tomorrow. Then we see what his heart can take: can he stand on his own, or walk, etc.

The sibs and some of the aunts are meeting tomorrow to talk about the next days and weeks and how best to manage care for mom and dad; the aunts and uncles are here in Sarasota, we -- the kids and my parents -- live 4 states and 900 miles away in Virginia. And since dad isn't going anywhere soon, we have to make some decisions. Along w/ this, mom needs a helping hand to stay on her meds, diet, etc.

We have to make a few decisions.

I guess the blessing is we are figuring out how to manage my parents' care instead of planning a funeral.
