Renting a car and whizzing about on the countryside was the best decision we made on the whole trip (apart from getting skin cancer on the beach that is, considering it was our honeymoon and all ;) ) Another trip we made was by regular tour buses = extremely crowded historic/tourist sites = no good photos or anything.

By moving about independently we had all the sites for ourselves.

Thanks Berny, I think I had to crop quite a bit. For some reason I think afterwards that my photographic eye wasn't with me (might have been caused by the juggling of two still cameras and a video camera = too many cameras equals too little or poor images).

a nice location and good picture of a roman historical place.
You are not alone with your feeling of haveing too big baggage volume for some picures.
