Love is in the air

The main street in my hometown of Jakobstad/Pietarsaari, Finland on 25.12.2006. Fortunately a thin coating of snow fell on the ground the same evening which made it a lot more appealing.

The heart is part of the christmas symbols of my hometown, consisting of a cross (faith), an anchor (hope) and a heart (love) that hang over the Main Street and in smaller versions in people's homes.

If I remember correctly, f/8 and a bit over 15 seconds exposure (camera was frozen and thus the shutter a bit stiff). A much better scanner does more justice to this version, had one up at flickr too which was scanned on an old Epson 1640 (no film holder), the Epson V500 I have now is quicker & better.

Thank you :) The credit for processing goes to a local camera shop, though my current scanner (and the fact that I now could use a negative holder and not had to place it directly on the scanner glass) play also a part.

Scoopro replies:
An Epson V500, very good for the price (~250€). It can scan up to 6x12 medium format (6x9 is the largest format I've ever shot and that was only once) negatives ,documents up to A4 size.

I haven't tried out the Epson 700/750, for my needs this one is well worth the price (and it fits on my current desk).
