Sunrise over the Atlas mountain range, Tunisia

Sunrise over the Atlas mountain range, Tunisia flocks of tourists, yours truly & wife included. First time I've experimented with a 16:9 aspect ratio.

I overdid it perhaps with noise ninja (noise/grain reduction) in this shot, the salt lake bed looks very sterile, though it was in fact quite devoid of detail in real life too.

maybe a little bit dark, but an interesting point of view !

Thanks! The road was elevated a bit as to withstand the occasional flood during the rainy season (which is how the lake is refilled every now and then), thus the from above perspective.

I think I found the correct location for the geotag (looks rather uninspiring from space...).

the chott el djerid region is something special! too bad about, the time i visited tunisia i didn´t own a camera
have you visited the oasis nefta or tozeur? may be some photos? greetings :)

Yep, it was certainly an experience :) Nefta doesn't sound familiar, we did go to a large oasis town, think it was Tozeur. After that there was a ride on a vintage train (pulled by a diesel locomotive though and not a steam-powered one). I used mostly a video camera in Tozeur, will look up some still shots though.
