Continents Drifting Apart
One of the many rifts in Þingvellir. Iceland is situated on the Middle-Atlantic Ridge, where the European and American tectonic plates drift apart at a speed of about 2.5 cm per year. (That's the value for Iceland. The speed varies along the ridge.)
