Blackstone Edge Moor Trig Point

Blackstone Edge Moor Trig Point
Blackstone Edge

Blackstone Edge is a gritstone escarpment standing at 1549 feet or 472 metres above sea. It is in the South Pennine hills surrounded by moorland. It sits on the boundary between Greater Manchester and West Yorkshire, I’m not exactly sure which county the photo was taken in, but suspect it’s the red rose side. The path we followed to get to the top is part of the Pennine Way. On a clear day from up here you can see across to Manchester city centre, the Peak District in Derbyshire and parts of North Wales, sadly it was a bit hazy today, we could see Manchester and the hills of the Peak District, just, but not Wales. Although quite warm it was extremely windy, but then it’s like that most days.

Thank you for your visit and your comments, they are greatly appreciated.

Some climb by the sound of things, worth it for the view though.
