Dort werden dieses Jahr vor allem Fotos von Süd- und Latein-Amerika von verschiedenen Fotografen gezeigt. Dieses Foto zeigt das Porträt einer festlich gekleideten Frau (einer "Fallera") in der bolivianischen Landschaft und stammt aus der Foto-Reihe "Mulheres" der brasilianischen Fotografin Luisa Dörr. Ihren Blick richtig zu deuten ist wohl gar keine so leichte Aufgabe. Gesehen vor der Orangerie im Doblhoffpark. Unter den Wellen unserer Meere und Ozeane befinden sich 95 Prozent des Lebensraumes der Erde. Aber die Mehrheit der Menschheit kennt wahrscheinlich gerade einmal 15 Prozent davon. Sie bieten je 7 Sitzplätze (für den Bürgermeister, den Richter und die 12 Ratsherren der Stadt). Das Ratsherrengestühl im südlichen Seitenschiff trägt ihm zu Ehren das Wappen von Matthias Eyrl von Eyrsperg, der von 1670-1689 Bürgermeister von Wiener Neustadt war und aufgrund seiner Verdienste um die Stadtbefestigung gegen die Gefahr der Türken-Angriffe bereits 1666 geadelt wurde. Sein Grabstein steht im südlichen Querschiff. Das alte Eyrl‘sche Wappen zeigt im vierfeldrigen Schild links oben und rechts unten auf rotem Grund einen grünen Dreiberg, auf dessen Spitze je ein weißes Ei aufgesetzt ist, und im rechten oberen und linken unteren Feld ein goldenes Büffelgehörn auf blauem Grund. Darüber hinaus wurde ihm zu Ehren auch ein Teil der Ringstraße um die Innenstadt, der Eyrsperg-Ring, nach ihm benannt. They each offer 7 seats (for the mayor, the judge and the 12 aldermen of the city). The councillor's chair in the southern aisle bears the coat of arms of Matthias Eyrl von Eyrsperg in his honour, who was mayor of Wiener Neustadt from 1670-1689 and was ennobled as early as 1666 for his services to the city's fortifications against the threat of Turkish attacks. His gravestone is in the southern transept. The old Eyrl coat of arms shows in the four-field shield at the top left and bottom right on a red background a green triple mountain, on the top of each of them is a white egg, and in the top right and bottom left field a golden buffalo horn on a blue background. In addition, a part of the ring road around the city centre, the Eyrsperg Ring, was named after him in his honour.

Diese hübsche Haussegensfigur entdeckte ich an der Ecke von Haus Nr 8 am Domplatz von Wiener Neustadt. Sie stellt einen Reiter auf einem Pferd dar, der sich zurück wendet und in ein Horn bläst. Solche Haussegensfiguren waren in Wiener Neustadt besonders in der zweiten Hälfte des 17. Jahrhunderts sehr beliebt und stellten mehrheitlich den Hl. Georg dar, mal mit, mal ohne Pferd. Ob also auch diese Haussegensfigur einen Georg darstellt ? Ich weiẞ es nicht. Aber eher nicht, oder ? Wahrscheinlicher ist, daß es sich um einen Postreiter handelt, der auf eine ehemalige Funktion dieses Hauses als Post- und Postkutschen-Station hindeutet. I discovered this pretty house blessing figure on the corner of house no. 8 on the plaza Domplatz in Wiener Neustadt. It depicts a rider on a horse turning back and blowing a horn. Such house blessing figures were very popular in Wiener Neustadt, especially in the second half of the 17th century, and most of them depicted St. George, sometimes with, sometimes without a horse. So whether this house blessing figure also depicts a George ? I don't know. But it is more likely not, isn't it ? It is more likely that it is a post rider, indicating a former function of this house as a post and stagecoach station.

Revovierung schön und gut, aber was ist das ? Eine aufgemalte Sonnenuhr ? Und wenn ja, wie funktioniert sie ? Von wo und wie schräg müsste denn da die Sonne her scheinen ? Diese Fassadenmalerei an einem entsprechend alten Haus in der Lederergasse von Wiener Neustadt ist mir bis jetzt ein Rätsel. Hast Du eine Idee ? Renovation all well and good, but what is it ? A painted sundial ? And if so, how does it work ? From where and at what angle should the sun be shining? This painting on the façade of an old house in the lane Lederergasse in Wiener Neustadt is still a riddle to me. Do you have an idea ?

Kein Wunder, daß das Zebra lacht, wenn es sich auf solch kuriose Art in den Dom von Wiener Neustadt transferieren konnte. :-D No wonder that the zebra is laughing when it was able to transfer itself to Wiener Neustadt's cathedral in such a curious way. :-D

... bedeut sinngemäß "Ohne Sonne Schweigen" und ist wohl so etwas wie eine Gebrauchsanweisung für diese Sonnenuhr, die nicht in Sommerzeit oder Winterzeit unterscheidet. Gesehen an einem alten Haus in der Lederergasse in Wiener Neustadt. ... means "Without sun silencel" and is probably something like an instruction manual for this sundial, which does not distinguish between summer and winter time. Seen on a old house in the lane Lederergasse in Wiener Neustadt.

Das "neue" Rathaus wurde von 1872 bis 1883 nach Entwürfen des Architekten Friedrich von Schmidt im Stil der Neogotik errichtet. Zwischen dem Rathaus und dem hübschen Rathauspark befindet sich der Rathausplatz, der nicht nur für Kundgebungen am 1. Mai genutzt wird, sondern auch für einen der ältesten Wiener Christkindlmärkte, Open Air Konzerte und andere Events wie hier für das Wiener Filmfestival 2021. The "new" Town Hall was built from 1872 to 1883 in the Neo-Gothic style according to designs by the architect Friedrich von Schmidt. Between the town hall and the pretty park Rathauspark is the plaza Rathausplatz, which is not only used for rallies on 1 May, but also for one of Vienna's oldest Christmas markets, open-air concerts and other events such as here for the Vienna Film Festival 2021.
