Am Michaelerplatz, genauer am Süd-Ende des Michaelertrakts der Wiener Hofburg befindet sich dieser eindrucksvolle Brunnen mit dem Namen „Die Macht zur See“. Sein Pendant befindet sich am Nord-Ende des Michaelertrakts und trägt den Namen „Die Macht zu Lande". Die junge Münchnerin Isabella Müller hat folgende Details dazu recherchiert: Beide Brunnen haben Brunnenbecken aus rotem, schwedischen Granit. Ihr Bodenpflaster besteht aus böhmischen Granit. Die Felsen im Brunnenbecken wurden aus Lindabrunner Konglomerat und die Figuren der Brunnen aus weißem Laaser Marmor gefertigt. Der Brunnen „Die Macht zu See“ zeigt den Meeresgott Neptun mit Dreizack, einen gestürzten Giganten mit einem Seeungeheuer über dem die allegorische Darstellung der Austria auf einem Schiffsbug mit der Inschrift Weyr 1895 thront. Der Schriftzug gibt Aufschluss, dass der Brunnen 1895 vom Bildhauer Rudolf Weyr geschaffen wurde.

On the central plaza Michaelerplatz, more precisely at the south end of the section Michaelertrakt of the Viennese Hofburg, there is located this impressive fountain with the name "The Power at Sea". Its counterpart is located at the north end of the section Michaelertrakt and bears the name "The Power at Land". The young Munich woman Isabella Mueller has researched the following details about it: Both fountains have fountain basins made of red, Swedish granite. Their floor pavement is made of Bohemian granite. The rocks in the fountain basin were made of Lindabrunn conglomerate and the fountains' figures of white Laas' marble. The fountain "The Power at Sea" shows the sea god Neptune with trident, a fallen giant with a sea monster above which is enthroned the allegorical representation of Austria on a ship's bow with the inscription Weyr 1895. The inscription indicates that the fountain was created in 1895 by the sculptor Rudolf Weyr.
