Wien, Burggarten / Vienna, Castle Garden

Das Denkmal von Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart steht seit 1953 im Burggarten, ist aus Laaser Marmor und stammt von Viktor Tilgner. Davor stand es seit 1896 auf dem Albertinaplatz, Der Violinschlüssel am Rasen davor ist seit vielen Jahren Standard und hat mich schon als kleines Kind fasziniert.

The monument to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart has stood in the Castle Garden since 1953, is made of Laas' marble and was designed by Viktor Tilgner. Before that, it stood on the plaza Albertinaplatz since 1896. The treble clef on the lawn in front of it has been a standard feature for many years and has fascinated me since I was a little child.
