Olive tree #6

Olive tree #6
Let there be light! Although these very old trees are still in production and cared after (albeit not very well and minimally) the terraces where they are planted are not being kept. Moreover, to prepare for what looks like further construction of holiday houses, what was a narrow path separated by stone walls has been recently roughly widened and some of those beautiful stone walls simply destroyed (probably without even the authorization of their owners). Sometimes, the destruction even reaches the roots of the olive trees closest to the road. But since there is no land registry (cadastre), who cares? [rb_140620_00050006.jpg]

Peter Brutschin, Scott Holcomb, Jörg Bergs and 2 other people have particularly liked this photo

Ahhhh - to imagine the history surrounding this ancient tree - - - - and of the people who have consumed it's olives and oil.

Thank you all for stopping by. I have no idea how ancient the tree is: I can only leave it to you to imagine the history.
