I was afraid of reactions like yours. In a photograph this sort of a scene can look beautiful, but the Palm Springs area is grossly overbuilt with golf courses, each one requiring vastly more water than a similarly sized residential area. The aquifer is being drained rapidly and may have only another 100 years worth of water in it. WithOUT the golf courses, the aquifer would last for about 600 years.
