This is the front view of the alter built by the NHANG in 1943. Its been said that there were other alters built by other battalions training in the Desert Center however, this is the last one standing. In the outmost upper left and upper right vacants is where both the Battalions Crest were mounted, they were removed when the battalions left the training maneuvers and returned to New Hampshire awaiting orders to deploy to Euope aboard the USAT James Parker.

It's not the only one standing. The altar at the east end of the camp is still standing. Here's a photo of that altar:
