Rev. Gene Boisseau Usn-ret says:
This is another view of how well this alter was built. The NH Guardsmen that built this alter were of common every day tradesmen from all parts of the state of New Hampshire. They trained well together from Camp Blanding, FL., Camp Shelby, MS., Camp Polk, LA, Camp Bowie, TX. and finally Camp Iron Mt. So Calif.. These NH National Guardsmen were well trained and ready to go to War !! After 65 years, this is the only stone standing.

It's not the only stone standing. There's another altar at the east end of the camp still standing. Also, parts of the map in the center of the camp are still standing.
