I've never seen one "in the flesh" so to speak! I think they're a great idea and I don't find them creepy at all :) I hadn't realised they were that widespread.

for me it is the lack of properly defined eyes and mouth which lead to a feeling of being a bit creepy.. very nicely captured with good separation from the background..
