De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill, East Sussex. Opened in 1935. Architects: Erich Mendelsohn and Serge Chermayeff. Restored and extended by John McAslan & Partners and re-opened in 2005. Listed Grade I in 1971.

These buildings need to be maintained to a very high standard in order to look their best. I hope the commitment to this restoration means it will receive just that but in these days of cut back this is usually the first thing to go.
