Now that's impressive Roger, even more so if it was taken handheld. I find the biggest problem I have with my new 55-300mm lens is that when I'm zoomed right in I seem to get the shakes ... now I have all that extra power, but am nervous of using it! :(

Thanks Paul; yes it was handheld (I was sitting down at the time!) and its equivalent zoom factor is quite long. I guess easier to steady/brace the smaller camera. I know what you mean when trying to zoom right in with some long telephoto lenses, have the same issue at times with the Sigma 150-500mm.

Thank you, I find the TZ60 a very useful pocket-able little camera.

Looks like you have good control over the camera, I am still struggling a bit with mine. Off to Italy in nine weeks and I need to know my way round the camera by then as it will be the only one I am taking.

Thanks; I often leave it on full auto for general use, only set aperture or speed priority when the need arises. Usually the auto results are fine for most occasions can even manage reasonable low light results (only rarely use flash to trigger an off camera unit). Have shot both jpg and RAW, but often use only jpg; just keep shooting and you will get to know the functions and capabilities. Have a good trip!

Very impressive. You probably used a tripod for the telephoto view. I suppose the 60x is a digital crop of the 30x optical zoom.
As usual, the reviews of this camera on digital photo websites are not enthusiastic, though it has a viewfinder and can shoot in raw, which is rather rare in this price range.

Thanks; incidentally both taken hand held, digital zoom to 60x is also switchable in the camera setup. I have had this pocket-able little camera since 2014 and found it a useful all rounder. Had in the past fifteen or so years carried a number of different small pocket cameras to record day to day events on construction sites, better than risking the more expensive kit, this one would beat them all for usefulness.

I also always have a pocket camera for the same reasons. But the Sony DSC-WX350B I use does not look as good as your Panasonic. 20x zoom instead of 30x does not matter for me, but I really envy:
1. The ability of making raw photos (by far the most important for me).
2. The viewfinder (very important, even if its quality is not perfect).

I very much agree with your two points, the reason I first considered this camera was the viewfinder, and the RAW capability was a good bonus. I use the rear screen quite a bit, but still find a viewfinder more useful (can't always see the rear screen in strong lighting of course). Also find the stabilization works quite well. The digital zoom often needs some work to clean up noise etc., but I would rather that than not get a shot in when there is a chance.
