'Bugging' Bronco!!!

Do excuse the quality of the video! It was windy - as ever - and I was trying to hold the branch, and leaves out of the way, and the camera! Also trying not to laugh!!!!

This Pentatoma rufipes final instar nymph had an earwig nymph climb onto it's back as I parted the leaves to take a photo. Well, the shieldbug was having none of it and proceeded to try to dislodge him by flicking his body about and kicking up his legs! It really was funny to watch!

Think the earwig was getting more and more confused and certainly wasn't getting the message! Eventually he did though and they parted company!
Upton Magna - Shropshire

Bugology, Ian Kirk have particularly liked this photo

Oh that was very cool, do earwigs eat insects? Those massive pinchers I wondered, I see them out hunting around at night sometimes on the balcony.

Thank you both!
No Crystal, not as such. They feed on organic matter including dead insects, but wouldn't predate a live one (as far as I know!!).
