From their website....."Serving Great Beer since 1397 ~ The George, a Grade one* listed building situated in an idyllic setting with beautiful views across the local village green and 14th Century Church. Seven miles from Bath and set in rolling green Somerset hills, this 700 year old inn has much to delight. Character bedrooms with beams and antique furniture, cosy bars, an ancient galleried courtyard, roaring fires in winter and wonderful food."

Bath Abbey
There has been a place of Christian worship on this site for well over a thousand years. However, the Abbey has undergone many transformations and changes during this time, and much like the city of Bath has experienced rise and falls in fortune, survived a number of major conflicts, architectural and religious reforms, but still stands proudly today as an essential place for both worshippers and visitors.
As the history of this sacred place stretches as far back as Anglo-Saxon times, there is a great deal to discover: tales of Kings and Queens, saints and sinners, as well as stories of ordinary people.

Bath ~ Royal Mineral Water Hospital
Until 2017 this was a working NHS Hospital specialising in rheumatic diseases ~ The hospital was founded in 1738 as The Mineral Water Hospital, Then, it provided care for the impoverished sick who were attracted to Bath because of the supposed healing properties of the mineral water from the spa. The original building was designed by John Wood the Elder and built with Bath stone donated by Ralph Allen.
Very dull weather...but Bath is never dull.

The Centre organises an annual Jane Austen Festival as well as walking tours of the city with an Austen theme.
