This shop has been there for as long as I can remember and a real old style newsagent/tobacconist, it stocks almost everything!

Günter Klaus, Ernest CH, Istvan Farkas, Aschi "Freestone" and 25 other people have particularly liked this photo

...off-Licence? Many years ago I bought a pallet of Guinnes canned beer in such a shop near Galway (Ireland).
But I don't think the dealer was allowed to. Because he took it out of hiding. I was traveling with the camper and needed the beer for the evening.. :-))

Ah, well alcohol Is the one thing this shop does not sell :-))
I thought everyone in Ireland sold Guinness ;-)

A beautiful old-style front for what sounds pretty near to a "one stop shop".

A wonderful old Victorian shop front..............with displays full of desirable things! It looks like it's even got some of the old hand-blown glass window panes.

Such a charming image Rosa and beautifully captured :-)

Good shot of this yesteryear shop Rosalyn. Charles Dickens The Old Curiosity shop. Sells everything from Paraffin to butter. About 30 years ago I was given the task of doing a stock count in a shop like this just to get a stock value. It took two of us two days and the inventory was endless and then we had to match it up with purchase invoices, all without the help of the owner who had sadly passed away.

I can imagine how difficult that job must have been Maurice. I am so pleased that this shop survives and is busy. I guess the one you mention, being 30 years ago is long gone. Many thanks for your nice comments.

It was an old Oil Shop in Forest Gate, East London, the shop is still there but is now a take away food outlet. That was in 2018.

It's amazing how they know where everything is in that type of shop, has it been owned by the same family for years, I hope you have had a good day Rosalyn still damp and dismal here

It's on different levels inside Peter and still has a very old fashioned feel. I don't know if it is owned by the same family. Take care and have a good day.

Wonderful old shop beautifully captured Rosa, Love the bottle bottom panes of glass strange they are only in the left hand window!, the image really deserves to be viewed full screen.

Thank you for your kind comments Roger. There is a window like this on a house in Wincanton with all old glass and quite a lean on it! I have often admired it in passing.
