The real thing

That's one of the three original Heinkel scooters my Dad has. He rides this one pretty regularly. It's the machine you see here.

I'm sure, he'd be more than happy to give you a lift, Jura :-) Oh, and b.t.w.: This is the machine that got them to South Tyrolia and other destinations in the German, Austrian and Swiss Alps. It also was my Dad's backup vehicle, when the family grew bigger and when he did assignments away from the family home for a few weeks. He then would ride his scooter on the weekends to come see us, sometimes for 3+ hours in pouring rain.

I'm almost sure, he'd love to do that, Sherry ;-)
Errr...., I think it can go around 75 miles, Sara. But this old gentleman, as my Dad once affectionately called his dependable fiery red companion, is not about speeding ;-)
Thanks, Roland! I'm sure my Dad will love to read this :-)
Sure is, Jura, a free spirit in his own right and always doing what he thought is the right thing to do.

he seems like a loving and gentle man. he knew his responsibilities, and took them to heart. I am sure he raised you to be the same way. :) he must be a very good man. also, I imagine he is very proud of you. I do not want a ride on it, but if I ever buy a convertible, I would definitely give him a ride during a wonderful summer's day. :)

Wow, Cher, that is very, very kind of you! I will make sure he gets to read your comment, I'm sure he'll love to see what you said. And I'm also sure he'd like to take you up on that offer of riding the convertible one day :-) Thanks so much, much appreciated!
