Yoko Ono´s


piece "light" .... Well, I actually do not have the English name for it now - but it is a light she lit for her husband and it is supposed to be lit for 2 months a year (or so) for 2 hours each night....

Wikipedia says about it: "On October 9, 2007, Ono dedicated a new memorial called the Imagine Peace Tower, located on the island of Videy, 1 km outside the Skarfabakki harbour in Reykjavík in Iceland. Each year, between October 9 and December 8, it will project a vertical beam of light high into the sky." (thanks for this info Kanonenknipser (Achim))

Takk Pixie, það er svolítið flókið þegar það er svona dimmt úti að ná að gera myndirnar eins og maður vill hafa þær... Tók nokkrar prufu og endaði svo með að vera sátt við nokkrar :o)

Iceland has many kinds of weather EACH HOUR so the sky is constantly changing - which is great for people with cameras :o)

I think the other trail of light comes from a sattelite that was lit by the sun over the horizon.

This is a fitting tribute. You should try out some Yoko music ('Blueprint for a Sunrise' is one of the more accessible, but still very 'Yoko' albums). People hate her because she's a strong woman who screams a lot, makes 'weird' music and art, and they think (incorrectly) that she broke up the Beatles... But she's been a peace campaigner and feminist since before she met Lennon, and she's still honouring his memory 27 years after his death.

She's got talent and a heart, and I think she'd appreciate you honouring her with another of your excellent photos!

I will look up her music :o) For the sake of - having done it - because I like her idea about this memorial about her husband. I really think it is nice of her to do that after all this time and it is an reminder for US also... The Beatles - behind every strong man there is a strong woman LOL - probably they were just right for each other... Both of them got strong personalities...
