The Artist...

This is from my exhibition...

The exh... is called "What were your future plans" (when you were a kid). All the pictures show people in their "dream jobs" - only 2 of my 18 models became what they had planned...

This man is my uncle, he wanted to become an artist and he did... the painting "floating" in the picture is one of his beautiful creations...

Þakka þér kærlega fyrir Guðrún mín... afskaplega gaman að lesa svona fallegt (ég táraðist næstum því híhí).... Þessi maður er náttúrulega bara gullfallegur að innan sem utan (og alveg afskaplega vel gefinn líka sem gerir hann enn meira spennandi ;o)

Þarna niðri í horninu er peysan, ég sé þetta á myndinni svona lítilli en þetta er augljóst á stóru myndinni :o) Þetta var eiginlega eina myndin af sýningunni minni sem ég var handviss um frá upphafi hvernig ég vildi láta koma út!! Vildi láta áhorfandann hafa það á tilfinningunni að hann væri að horfast í augu við hann og er bara mjög ánægð með hvernig til tókst sko :o)

Oh wow!! Great respect to your Uncle!! It must have been so hard, in such a confined country as Iceland (sorry, but you know I love your country!! :-D) to make a living as an artist. And his work looks excellent too! (Is it anywhere on the Internet for us to see?)

Superb portrait too! :-D

Very cool shot Raga...I love his expression, He has a reluctant submission in his face not want to be the subject but create the subject...lol, I am reaching are I not...

Ragnheidurpro replies:
You are reaching in the correct eh.... way? LOL - he is an true artist this man. He creates beautiful paintings AND he writes and reads words that some of us have long since forgotten (if you know what I mean) full of knowledge!!! And it is so much fun to listen to him speak about long forgotten (by most of us) days and adventures... He is also an teacher and used to be the headmaster of a school in Ólafsfjörður.... :o)

Nú er ég reglulega farin að hlakka til að sjá sýninguna. Þessi mynd er mjög góð fyrir það að vera svo einföld og laus við tilgerð, þú náðir persónuleikanum nákvæmlega
Posted 15 months ago. ( permalink )
Ragnheidurpro replies:
já ég held ég hafi nefnilega náð honum algjörlega (hann er reyndar ekki alltaf svona alvarlegur :o)

Hlakka til að heyra hvernig þér líst á sýninguna Gurrý :o)

JJ Fanagh says:
This is rather wonderful as the painting is floating by, almost like a thought in his head. I've become very curious. Are his paintings just paint and are they as small as they appear in the photo? The colours remind me of some of the most beautiful modern fabrics I have seen... works in silk or quilting... not so much as paint. It makes me immediately think of a shoreline - the interaction of earth and sea but seen quite differently... quite vibrant. Very nice.

Ragnheidurpro replies:
OMG how he will love these words!!! His painting are big (this one is probably around 80cm*80cm...) This painting actually belongs to a set and it shows the earth meeting the sea and some trees... So you are very good at understanding his work!!!

My intention with having his painting there was as he was thinking about it! So you understand my thoughts also - :o) so thank you very much for understanding BOTH of us and also for this nice comment :)
