One of Iceland´s many beautiful waterfalls
Goðafoss, located in north Iceland. The capital of north Iceland is Akureyri and there my father lives. We go between Akureyri and Reykjavík A LOT - sometimes we drive around there or fly for that matter. As my upcoming exhibition will be in Akureyri, I have been going around there rather much lately :o)
This waterfall gets it´s name from Þorgeir Ljósvetningargoði, which was the one who helped us (people in Iceland) establish Christian religion. I am not absolutely sure about the story behind the name here but it has something to do with Þorgeir throwing "statues" from the previous religion in the waterfall...... :o)
