A Toy or??? :o)

Actually it is a dream coming true for my father who bought this beautiful sea plane and brought it back to Iceland by him self (and his friend) - it took them 3 weeks with weather and fuel having huge influence in that time. I took this picture when he landed in Iceland, inserted pictures showing me photographing the landing and the other showing my father taking the first steps :o) out of his beauty in Iceland... :o)

Sibbi photographed it when it arrived in Akureyri..

Flottar myndir og vélin er glæsileg. Hlýtur að hafa verið ævintýri fyrir "gamla" manninn að koma vélinni heim. Ef hann flýgur eitthvað um Vopnafjörðinn næsta hálfa mánuðinn, þá veifa ég honum :o)

Ragnheidurpro replies:

Ragnheidurpro replies:
Úff já þú mátt sko trúa því EN þar sem hann er nú afar þolinmóður maður þá gekk þetta að lokum og já hún er á Akureyri, kíkjum á hana og snöpum kannski flugferð ef þannig liggur á okkur :o)

Clarence the Cross-eyed Lionpro says:
I gotta know: all I see in the large pic is a pair of orange pants with boots attached hanging over the floater. In the little insert I think I may see your dad in it, but why is it hanging over the floater, and why are the boots still attached? Is that some kind of territorial marking ("this is MY plane")?
Posted 17 months ago. ( permalink )
Ragnheidurpro replies:
Yes, I know this is YOUR plane LOL... This was the uniform flying over the ocean, just in case!!! He is wearing it walking out of the plane as you see and I would blame laziness for having the boots still hanging there inside the trousers :o) AND they are hanging there for the simple reason that he took it off AND laid them there while he was being "checked on" by the custom... :o)

Glæsileg vél :) Það segir einhverstaðar að "The difference between a man and a boy is the size of his toy" :) Mitt götótta veski leifir ekki svona leikföng :)
Posted 17 months ago. ( permalink )
Ragnheidurpro replies:
múhahaha, held það sé svolítið til í þessu. Hans veski var sko götótt frameftir öllu, þess vegna er svo gaman að sjá hvað hann nýtur þess að eignast hluti sem voru í denn aðeins fjarlægur draumur :o)

Cool, I thought it was a Beaver, I am familiar with the Beaver and the Otter, they are one of my favorite work horses. We did a lot of camping in Northern Ontario, Algonquin, and they had one of each that they flew over the forrests...low and slow. LOT of power in the rotarys. I am not a pilot the only plane I ever flew, or controlled, was a Widgeon I love them too... Thanks for the answer...
