10 Tage vor Eröffnung.
Seit das Casino Bern 1909 eröffnet worden war, wurde es schon 19 mal umgebaut. Beim 20. Umbau hat man nun die historische Substanz neu hergerichtet und versucht, die ursprüngliche Grandezza des Hauses wiederherzustellen.
Der grosse Saal (Bild oben) ist denkmalgeschützt und wurde deshalb grösstenteils erhalten.
Noch wichtiger als der optische Eindruck ist bei einem Konzertsaal die Akustik. Ein Akustiker hat deshalb während des Umbaus regelmässig die baulichen Massnahmen kontrolliert und darauf geachtet, dass die Akustikvorgaben befolgt wurden.

20 Mal in 110 Jahre!!! Das kann nicht sein, dass heisst dass es die ganze Zeit Arbeiten gab.

Daniela, naja, d.h. im Durchschnitt alle 5,5 Jahre ein Umbau von einem halben Jahr. Das kann schon etwa hinkommen. Es gab natürlich auch nur kleine Umbauten, wie z.B. nur das Restaurant, oder die Lounge.
Aber so eine grosse Gesamtsanierung wie jetzt, gab es schon länger nicht mehr.

I do not know much about acoustics. But yes, it makes sense that hard materials are not very ideal, and that is why those panels mentioned on your new post are important.

Also I have understood it is better to get the concert sold out in order to get enough "soft human panels" inside the hall ;-)
