Urban art or vandalism in Digbeth?

Urban art or vandalism in Digbeth?
This is "Philth" by 'Neveready' and on a huge end wall of a building on Hack Street in Digbeth, Birmingham, UK. Also it is on the opposite side of the Trinity Street car park to my previous upload and just outside the rear pedestrian gate,

Explored!

Keith Burton, Gudrun, Katja, Zucchi57 (BusyBusyBusy!!!) and 10 other people have particularly liked this photo

It's an energetic depiction of Bastet, and I think it's witty for it to be placed among temples to the Great God Car.

Polyrus has replied to Steve Bucknell
But, but, Bastet had the head of a lioness. You must have seen her on your travels?

I agree, Pam and I was drooling over it when I saw it. I spent that little bit longer composing the shot to try and do it justice in a digital image.

Indeed, yes on both counts, Jan. I can't imagine the artist ever being out of work and good luck to them.
Many thanks for your later 'heads up' about Explore.

Thank you, Tricia. Seeing it made my day and I hope to find similar when I return on my annual pilgrimage to Digbeth this summer.

Fortescue38 has replied to Polyrus
Why an annual pilgrimage? Have you lived there? Or got relatives in the area? Seems a strange place to keep re-visiting, although I love the street art you find.
Polyrus has replied to Fortescue38
Never lived there and the place scared me when I was a teenager. It was really run down and dirty then.
The pilgrimage is to Digbeth, to find and shoot new street art, which changes annually

Art ofcourse..

Polyrus has replied to Peter Van Lom
Not all agree, Peter. Whilst there I overheard a woman telling her man that it should never have been allowed as it was spoiling the brickwork ....and that she hoped the rain would soon wash it off!

Peter Van Lom has replied to Polyrus
The great thing about streetart is that it is aging over time together with the surroundings and finally it'll disappears.. or it gets painted over again. That is what it makes it alive.
