Suðurland tourAmong Pixie's albums
I'm a model you know what I mean, and I do my little turn on the catwalk...
Went on a great 2 day trip along the southern coast with some friends... it was great and we covered a lot of ground... and took a lot of pictures, even though the weather did not quite co-operate... sometimes we were in danger of blowing away :D I will be uploading more from the trip...
Have a seat and enjoy the view
... but don't sit for too long because strange things happen on those deserted farms... see the notes :o) No Photoshop tricks involved... and no chairs were hurt during the making of the photo... well, not seriously hurt.
Does anyone doubt that the earth is round? ;o)
This is taken at the famous beach Reynisfjara... a beach that has claimed some tourist lifes because it is hard to realize the power of the sea and how far up the beach the waves reach. I love how the sky reflects in the receding wave and how the foam reminds me of lace and pearls :o) Take a look at it in the original size!
This lone ice cube is taller than me (ok, I know, it doesn't take much) ;o) ... and also a bit older, it's about 1000 years old :o) It is originated from the Vatnajökull glacier in the background, it has broken off the glacier, floated around in the glacial lagoon, floated out to sea and washed up on the shore below the lagoon :o)
Seaspray on glacial ice
I love the light through the ice... and I tried to capture the seaspray as the waves crashed on the ice... I recommend strongly the original size!
Ok, this is a big one. This is a pano made from six shots standing on the bank of the Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon. It might take some time to load the original size but if you can I strongly recommend it! :o) There are some great details, like the flock of birds to the left of the bridge, the car that tows the zodiac boat that carried the BBC crew that were on the lagoon that day, the man walking up to the house etc. This is one of the most famous tourist places in Iceland and some international films ha…
I saw this view and asked Ragga to stop the car and she did.. on the middle of the bridge :o) The glacial lagoon Jökulsárlón ahead... on the other side, the Atlantic ocean. Again, original size strongly recommended ;o)
... shot of Seljalandsfoss waterfall (a popular tourist attraction here in Iceland). You can walk behind the waterfall... but you better be wearing your raincoat ;o) As a bonus we got a rainbow for a little while :o) And as usual... it looks better big ;o)
