... never to be.

Just above the area where I live, the town of Hafnarfjörður had planned a whole new area of habitation in 2007. They had already sold lots, laid roads, built stairs up the hills and put up street lights. Then came the recession and nobody could afford to buy the lots or build the houses.

Now, more than two years later, the area is still the same... no houses, no people, no nothing... well, nothing but a lot of roads, stairs and street lights (never lit). It is a bit surreal being there... but it is also great for running, cycling... and thinking.

I kind of like being up there all alone, listening to the birds and smelling the heather vegetation...
