Broken ribs 


I visited the island of Flatey on Breiðafjörður for a weekend recently. It was like stepping a few (or many) decades back in time.

The island is often used as a location for movies because of it's old time charm :o)

Yes, hard to believe that once it was brand-new. Someone had built this boat from timber, lovingly cut. Perhaps its career had been short because it wasn't so good; perhaps a storm broke it...

Takk Oddur, það er nóg af gömlum hlutum í náttúrunni í Flatey. Þessi bátur var ótrúlega stór og splittaður upp eftir miðjunni... sést betur á myndinni hér fyrir neðan, sérð stærðina á honum samanborið við dóttur mína:
