Keilir 


Every town in Iceland has its own special mountain it likes to call its own... and thinks of course is the most magnificent mountain in the land ;o)

My hometown, Hafnarfjörður, has Keilir (which really means "cone" ... easily explained by its shape) :o)

This morning I hiked to the top of Keilir... too bad there is no road leading to it where it stands in a lava field... so one has to start (and end) with a 3 1/2 km. walk from and to the car.


The weather was beautiful and the walk was... invigorating :o)

Begga, I know that you like hiking, nature, hills and mountains... Therefore I want to show you the images of my very best friend Simone (we are very good friends for 17 years, she's from my hometown). She is living in Munich, near the mountains. She and her husband are passionated hiker and climber. They visited many many mountains in the world. Mostly in Austria and Switzerland.

Every town has its mountain but... it also seems that every mountain has its own sky, cause this sky and these clouds seems to fit perfectly with the mountain!
