... before Christmas. They are predicting rain on Monday... and over the holidays.
This is taken on the walk path behind my house :o) I live in a lava field ;o)
Original size for a more snowy feeling :o)

As for living in a lava field - I find that oddly romantic I now imagine you live in a little wooden hut right in the centre of this deserted patch of rough ground.

The magic world of Iceland has for example:
- trolls in the mountains
(they've usually ventured out in daylight and turned to stone)
- elves in the stones
(they are good creatures but have been known to lure people into the stones)
- flower fairies
(harmless and beautiful)
- 13 yule lads in the mountains that come to town 13 days before Christmas
(nasty lads with a weird sense of humour en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yule_Lads)
- the parents of the jule lads
(they steal naughty kids and eat them)
and much more... ;o)
Oh, and here is a very good translation on the Icelandic poem about the 13 Yule lads that all Icelandic children know... notendur.centrum.is/sjbokband/joh.html/yulelads00.html :o)

Hafnarfjörður is said to have a very large community of what we call elves, and they live in the large stones :o)
I would love to have this snow over Christmas and New Year, unfortunately they predict rain tomorrow :o(
