Waterfall of surf 


One more from the trip to Brimketill ... I love how the receding surf creates waterfalls on the rocks :o)

You live in such a wonderful area :-) I nearly visited back in 1982, but we had a vote between about 50 of us. We went to Austria, Italy, and what was at the time, Yugoslavia, but is now Slovenia. I loved the trip, but always though i'd missed something, and your photos always make me wish we'd headed out your way instead.

Yes I'm very lucky living here... Iceland is a beautiful place with so many moods and I'm glad to be able to show you some of them :o) And it's never too late... you'll just have to gather your friends again and come here :o)

I probably won't see any of those people from all those years ago, but if i ever get enogh money to travel about again, then Iceland is high on the list. I've got a few friends who have been there. and they spoke VERY highly of you homeland, and the people :-)

Yes, it's an intriguing photograph because the little waterfalls show you that a moment before the sea had lashed these rocks with big waves! (I can imagine you standing there with your camera to your eye, dripping with cold water!!!! :-D ) I hope there was a cup of hot chocolate near by!! :-D

That's very perceptive of you! ... and you're absolutely right, about the big wave that is to say :o) I was actually trying to capture the "splash" but only caught the aftermath, hence the little waterfalls.

And I was not doused with water right then and there... but a little while later just after taking the photo here below
Surf II
we wentured a little further out and got promptly doused with a huge wave! Hehe... I was just taking a shot when it hit us and this was the result:

You can see that the wave reached well above the top of the cliff! ;o) Sadly we did not have any warm beverage nearby... so we hurried back to town :o)

Well, actually there was a deep hole there... only visible when the water was sucked out by the tide! Who knows, maybe it really does lead to the center of the earth :o) Thank you so much Jonathan :o)
