Rain ahead (reposting)

This is the first photo I uploaded on Ipernity and it is taken on our first digital camera back in 2002. I was never quite happy with the processing so I wanted to try again...

I don't know why but there are so many things I love about this snapshot... and this is a snapshot, taken out of a car window over the Eyjafjörður fjord.

Better viewed in larger size.

You just have to come to Iceland and drive through Víkurskarð pass... and voila! Chances are good that it will be raining ;o) Thank you Peter :o)

So I had a lot of luck with the weather during the one week I spent in Iceland last July. This looks more like the weather in Germany Easter 2008. But bad weather can create good snapshots. ;-)

Pixie pro replies:
The weather can be quite good here in the summer, but usually not for long... and then we also get summers with nothing but rain :o) So if you had good weather for a whole week here then you were lucky yes :o) Thank you Opa...

Hihi... my first thought: "rain ahead"... after that I read the title... ;-)
You've captured a nice nature spectacle - well done Begga!
... a few days ago I saw that you upgrade your profile with your real name... Hi Begga :o)
Posted 4 months ago. ( permalink )
Pixie pro replies:
Thank you Sandra, yes the title came quite naturally! :o)
... and hi Sandra, yes Begga is what I am called, but my actual name is Bergljót (but nobody calls me that) ;o)
Posted 4 months ago. ( permalink )
Sanliaka replies:
... Bergljót... by the way... I have absolutely no idea how icelandish sounds... :o(
Posted 4 months ago. ( permalink )
Pixie pro replies:
Hehe... please call me Begga! Bergljót is way too formal...
And about how Icelandic sounds... here's a link to a bit of Icelandic on YouTube ;o) www.youtube.com/watch?v=bArUSpMGXZE
Posted 4 months ago. ( permalink )
Sanliaka replies:
Thanks for the link... I also choose another one "entertainment in icelandic" ;-)
In which language icelandic has its beginning (or origin)? It's nordic, isn't it? ...

... oh, there's a great description on wikipedia ;-)

Sanliaka replies:
Hahahaha... you're funny Begga... I really found and read it in german ;-) This link is just for you ;-)
Currently I read all about Iceland at Wiki... since I know you and Oddur and your wonderful pictures I'm interested in Iceland: the nature, the climate, the history and so on... I'm still reading about...

Oddur Jonsson pro says:
Flott mynd, rosalega drungaleg skýin og flott hvernig rigningin virðist sveigja frá hlíðinni hinu megin fjarðarins :o)
Svo er myndin nánast tvílit nema smá sólarglenna og grænt sem skín í gegn, kemur mjög vel út :o)
Posted 4 months ago. ( permalink )
Pixie pro replies:
Takk Oddur, eitt af því sem mér finnst svo æðislegt er einmitt græni liturinn í hlíðinni hinum megin í gegnum regnið, og svo sólarblettirnir á haffletinum :o)

Thanks for sharing it. It's not everyday that you can see the rain fall and not actually be in it. It's certainly dramatic with a little wind blown effect as well.

What I love is also seeing the rain fall with the sun shining through it... thank you Ken :o)

Takk Ragga :o) Held kannski líka upp á hana af því hún var tekin á hrikalega lélega vél... var svo hissa á útkomunni þegar ég prófaði að vinna hana...

Takk Birkir :o) Ertu að norðan?
Posted 3 months ago. ( permalink )
Birkin replies:
Nei ég er ekki að norðan, alinn að mestu leiti upp vestur í Dalasýslu, ég hugsaði meira útí veðrið, skýafarið og ljósið, eitthvað sér Íslenskt yfir því..... ;o)

Is it true that Icelandic has the same word for blue and green ? I've read this on wikipedia...

Wow, thank you Great! Yes, there was no rain where I was, but I drove into it a little later...

Well, the Icelandic word for blue is blár and the word for green is grænn soooo... it is definately not the same ;o)
