Rauðisandur (Red Sands) on the West Fjords... a very remote, beautiful and an unusual place for Iceland. We are more used to black beaches.. at least we who come from the northern part of the country. Such vastness... and I seriously think I was alone in… -

I sometimes drive by this lake (Hvaleyrarvatn) on my way home from work, it is a short detour and well worth it :o) That afternoon in August was beautiful and I've seldom seen such perfect reflections on the lake! -
