Located at 8 Spruce Street, Lower Manhattan and originally called Beekman Tower, the 76 story building, designed by architect Frank Gehry, is 870 tall. It is one of the tallest residential buildings in the world. Clad in stainless steel panels, it was completed in 2010. New York City, New York (DSC01119)

Cooper Union Academic Building

Completed in 2009, the building was designed by architect Thom Mayne of Morphosis. It is constructed of reinforced concrete frame, cast on site, enclosed in an aluminum and glass curtain wall with an operable perforated stainless steel skin offset from the glass but still attached to the main frame. The Bennett Building

139 Fulton Street - Named for James Gordon Bennett, Jr. publisher of the New York Herald who built it. It is a cast iron buiding designed by Arthur D. Gilman. Construction began in 1872 and was completed a year later. Originally 6 stories tall with a mansard roof, in the early 1890s, Architect James M. Farnsworth was emloyed by a new owner to enlarge the building. He stripped off the mansard roof and added four floors keeping Gilman’s original exterior design.
