Vespa crabro (PiP's zum anklicken)
Hornissen gehören zur Familie der Faltenwespen. Wir haben dieses Jahr etliche bei uns im Garten. Diese nagt an Rinde um an den Baumsaft zu kommen. Wenn kein Hornissennest in der Nähe ist werden Hornissen kaum aggressiv und man kann sich ihnen gut nähern. de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hornisse

Wir hatten schon mehrfach Hornissennester. Eines war im Erkerdach. Da musste ich öfter vorbei, um das Dachbeet zu pflegen. 1 Meter Abstand vom Einflugloch war kein Problem. Das andere Nest war in einem Nistkasten am Baum. Beobachtungen aus 1 Meter waren auch kein Problem. Beim Rasenmähen habe ich das Nest manchmal vergessen und bin mit dem Kopf weniger als einen halben Meter am Loch vorbei. Nichts passiert. Mit Wespennestern habe ich ähnliche (gute) Erfahrungen gemacht.
