Diesel powered ice-cream vans that rely on their engine to run their refridgeration and dispensing equipment are gradually becoming limited in the areas in which they can function. Running their engines while stationary polutes the air, which is especially unwelcome around the areas, like schools and parks, where children are. Time limits are in place in some areas. The provision of power points is a positive move in a few areas, where there are approved pitches. Totally electric vehicles are very expensive - some are over £60,000. This van's use of solar panels is a reasonable compromise.

It won't be a penny ice-cream this year - more like 300 pennies +

This sign was outside a bakers on the hill up from Lewes station. I make no guarantees about the efficacy of this method of keeping out of kidnappers' hands, but it sounds like a reasonable excuse for a bit of bakery product!

I was attracted to this view by the street lamps on brackets on telegraph poles. They are still called telegraph poles despite the telegraph being replaced by telephones over a century ago - I think!. Sorry about the reflections on the bus' windows. I didn't have time to stop, get off the bus and take more pictures there, unfortunately.
